If you are waiting until your ‘end of year’ review to discuss promotion targets, development or pay rises, then don’t. Now is the best time to do it. Showcasing your knowledge of the external market and your in-demand skills strengthens those conversations. You’ll have a greater understanding of your career path (and timeline) at your current company, which will help you decide whether to stay or to start searching for a new job.
